A multi-faceted design studio, bySalt creates for all kinds of living that we do everyday - homes, workspaces, commercial spaces, exhibitions, and experiences.
Our designs aim to create a way of life that is intuitive for the users and always subtle and tasteful.
This is rooted in the belief that good design can and should add value to life and ease human effort.
Our work pursues community engagement with artists, architects, furniture designers, and more to curate a synchronised affair for the inhabitant rather than monopolising the site of action.

As a venture that designs wholesome living, experience is a big part of our design philosophy and something that is evidently reflected in our practice as a studio. Through our work, we realised that experiences cannot be designed in isolation, in fact the best experience is delivered in sync with many parts working together.

In order to provide an inhabitant of a space with the full experience we cannot stop at designing buildings, interior spaces, or just furniture. Hence, our studio decided to branch out and start multiple verticals under which we offer our clients a range of design services for: living spaces, furniture and decor elements, styling spaces, experiences, and strategies.
All the verticals at Living bySalt are services we offer in an integrated manner as well as stand-alone depending on the requirement of the project or preference of the clients.
Spaces
The spaces that we live in everyday see us in many different roles - that one space which is a reading corner that inspires, another one that is best to focus on for work or study, or the one that makes for the best hangout spot.
Our design journey is rooted in our first vertical, Spaces bySalt, through which we focus on designing spaces that we engage with everyday - homes, workspaces, hospitality, retail, institutional spaces, and more. The idea is to create areas that guide intuitive living and do not interrupt in any way.
Experiences
The lighting as we walk into a movie theatre, the smell of mogra as we enter a spa, or the feeling or the colours inside a children’s arcade - all of them are designed experiences that stay with us for all our lives.
Experiences have the power to create a lasting memory and connection to a place, an event, or an idea as they make them feel. All kinds of experiences leave their own set of impressions on people and making sure these are lasting impressions is where our fourth vertical, Experiences bySalt comes in.
However impressions are simply the starting point. The exhibitions, event designs, and experience designs we create aim to convey what the ethos of the brand or event is with all the senses possible.
Styling
Plants that form a fluid barrier between the living and family room, a throw on the sofa, or a pile of books on the corner table - all indicating possible lifestyles a space has to offer simply by finding the right combination of placements.
An embellishment to our design practice, Styling bySalt is a vertical that focuses on unlocking the potential of the space. It helps our users experience the space that can be.
We believe that styling is a practice in intuition which allows us to show the kind of character and depth the space has and how it can bring out the essence of the space.
Elements
The elements of a space have the power to carry the personality of a space. What would our homes be without the swing we spent hours chatting with our best friend on, or the lunch table at our office where we share food and vent everyday?
Elements bySalt is our attempt at diving further into designing wholesome living. Through Elements bySalt - pieces of furniture, decor, lighting - we celebrate forms and materials that we find in nature, thereby blurring the lines between the inside and outside. They are also versatile - multi-functional in use - and rather than standing out in a space and demanding undue attention, they blend in and create harmony with the surrounding space.
The Elements we design are timeless heirloom pieces with a sustainable quality to them.
Strategy
Strategies are a part of our daily lives - calculating which route will help us reach home the fastest or plan our week in a way that we achieve a work goal are all minor strategies we use. For brands or companies with long term goals these strategies can be complex and have many stages and methods involved.
The focus of Strategy bySalt is to help brands and companies achieve their goals - our process involves identifying targets and streamlining the company’s processes and systems so that they are aligned towards the end goal. What we provide is an outsider’s perspective and a deep knowledge of how strategies can be designed to work in one’s favour.
